you have total control of your retreat.
Depending on your goals, you may fast
for your entire stay or you may choose
to eat delicious living foods. You
will benefit from both programmes,
the difference being only one of speed
and intensity.
In our experience, for most people,
the optimum programme is a combination
of both options: a short fast of two
or three days followed by nutritious
alkaline living food.
If you fast during all your stay
with us, your detoxification will
be more profound, also your weight-loss.
However, you may miss the opportunity
to take part in the hands-on demonstrations
to prepare food. By participating
in the practical preparation of menus
and dishes, you may equip yourself
to take home some gold nuggets of
experience, which will enable you
to improve your long-term habits.

In addition, the most important
and difficult part of fasting is by
far breaking it. Therefore, we strongly
encourage you to move on to solids
under our careful monitoring and allow
one or two days of eating before you
return to the big wild world.
On the other hand, if you choose
not to fast, you may miss the opportunity
to profit from a well needed deep
cleanse. |

Fasting is very simple in principle
and you can do it on your own. However,
to refrain from our daily eating habits
and addictions often proves to be
too challenging in our own environment.
Furthermore, when we fast we may
become temporarily weak and light-headed
and we require a great deal of rest.
Despite our good intentions, we all
know how difficult it is not to carry
on with our busy lives of answering
phones and seeing to pressing tasks.
Having a complete break from it all
in calm surroundings allows our fast
to work more effectively.
Three days is enough to get rid of
most of our toxins. Therefore, at
Health Etcetera we strongly encourage
you to consume vegetable alkaline
juice for two or three days. We do
monitor you at all times and after
this short period, we will discuss
with you how to best take your retreat
forward. Some people continue fasting
for up to three weeks whilst others
are ready to move on to solid food.
If you stay for longer than a week,
you may choose to fast for one day
a week after your initial juice feasting
period.
You do not need to decide which programme
